Is there Honesty in Adult SEO?

Although my partner in crime Ralph and I kiss each others asses during our Sensual SEO show many times throughout the hour (yes we will have to make a contest next season and give away a prize), it is only for your listening pleasure. In fact for many years I argued with Ralph over certain items when it came to online marketing and adult writing. As we have mentioned a few times, Ralph and I are actually about 15 years in age difference so there are some "new media" items which my partner will never listen to me about, and that’s ok. We agree to disagree and still manage to be honest with each other.

In the past two months I have been receiving phone calls and emails from adult websites who have gotten burned by other adult seo companies. Now I don’t know if the inquiries we are receiving for adult seo are because the adult businesses do not understand the time it takes to organically rank for their keywords and had higher and quicker expectations OR if the adult seo provider wasn’t straight up honest with the adult business.

I am finding that many in the adult industry do not want to give away their secrets. I just laugh! Why? Because all the self-proclaimed "secrets" are all over the Web! Yes, you have to find them and do research and/or be involved in Organic SEO for many years BUT if you REALLY want to DIY Adult SEO, there are a few ways to go about it. You can either find an SEO who will consult and teach you how to go about your adult seo campaign or start connecting to seo’s and read their forum and blog postings. Even attending local SEO meet-ups you can learn more about how to begin to organically rank your Website.

Honesty: Is there honesty in Adult SEO?

I know there is competition, LOTS of competition. The adult market is flooded with Websites and trying to get a new Website ranked can take time for your top targeted keywords. If you are told differently, then you need to rethink the honesty of the person you are speaking to. It is known that Adult SEO takes time hence why there are not many companies who will touch Adult SEO.

Expectations

The expectations of the adult business owner also needs to be in check or reality. There are many sites which have been focusing on their organic ranking from the beginning of their site launch so just think about that competition. Ralph and I have been lucky to rank our own sites fairly quickly but that is also because we set up our sites. When working with a client, many times it could take days if not weeks for their tech department to switch and change items we ask for so that our "magical" work actually works!

Wednesday Nights: Listen on Radio Dentata at 9pm EST to Sensual SEO with Lisa and Ralph

Well once again Lisa and I ‘circled the airport’ in our meandering radio talk, but I think the examples got through loud and clear. While not truly bitching (ok, maybe we were bitching a little) we were trying to hammer home the point we had hammered in the previous show: mainly, that it is important that our clients are informed. We want a potential client, even you our radio audience, to recognize, realize and ruminate over choices when choosing your social media/SEO company. Like we have said on more than one occasion and said again on this show, even if someone solicits us for business and spends an hour or more with Lisa on the initial consultation, and they still choose not to use us, at the very least we know this person went away more informed then before the call. Hey, if they want to use us, more the better (and really the reason they usually don’t use is, as Lisa has said time and again, you get what you pay for and we don’t work for free!).

Yes, I shared some good news about a book of mine being published by Renaissance eBooks, mentioned Amazon now selling this very blog for Kindle

and how two of our latest Press Releases got read by PlayboyRadio and the clients we did them for have been contacted for an interview on that XM/Sirius giant. So things aint’ so bad.

So it’s twats, twits, tweets and twirling on this episode of our radio show. I kind of had to lay low as I don’t have Facebook or Twitter nor will I be signing up anytime soon. But this doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the importance of all these applications in the social media circus that is our business and I let Lisa run with the ball on this episode as she walks our listeners through Twitter, how to use it and why. I do chime in, in my usual inaffective way, but I think Lisa gives a good overall view of Twitter and by association Facebook and MySpace on this new show.

As always, I am ever amazed at how much she knows…mmmwwwa, there I am accused of kissing her shapely butt again, but it’s true. She keeps
up and knows her stuff, so as usual I learn as much as I listen.

Ralph can kiss my shapely ass anyday he likes…
